Resolutions are meant to be broken, WHY? Every year thousands make resolutions, loose weight, quit smoking, get healthy. I am one of those and then by the end of January most resolutions are broken. So for 2012 I wanted to shake things up and make resolutions that I could keep. Eat good food, eat out more, smoke less, eat more pineapple, don’t beat up any nuns, and drink more.
Well now that two months of the year are history, I have to report that my resolutions are on track. The hubster and I have eaten out more in this year than we had all of 2011. We are lucky to have restaurant week in January where we live. In years past we have picked one restaurant and that was it. This year we picked not one but TWO different places to eat. Cuba Libre, which we had been to before and Art and Soul, which was our fist trip.

I had heard rumors about how good the fried chicken was. The chicken recipe is from Art Smith’s family. the chicken is marinated in buttermilk for three days and I have to say it is so far the best fried chicken I have had. I don’t want this to become a review so I’ll try to make it a review. Between the service, wine and the food it was a great evening to get out and try new places. We had such a great experience that while we were still dinning we made reservations for four days later. The second trip the food was just a good as the first visit, the service was exceptional. But as I was telling a coworker she asked me if I had ever had the fried chicken at Central, which I haven’t, that is supposed to be exceptional as well, so now maybe it should just be a resolution to find the best fried chicken in town. Not a bad way to spend the year.
