Now that fall is here the farmer’s markets have an abundance of apples. Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Winesap, Liberty just to name a few as well as many others. I bought a bagful of a variety of apples. I have already made an apple pie so I guess it was on to Apple Crisp. Butter, oatmeal, sugar, cinnamon and a surprise ingredient of boiled apple cider along with the apples make a very seasonal treat that is easy to make on a crisp autumn day. It is best served warm. Maybe, some ice cream on the side adds a little something extra.
