Buttermilk fried chicken

Well another hot and steamy day in DC. So again, I chose to stand over a hot stove to make Buttermilk Fried Chicken. I am cooking recipes from the Ad Hoc at Home cookbook by Thomas Keller.

I had never made buttermilk fried chicken before and I wanted give it a try. The recipe called for soaking the chicken in a brine before frying. Something else I also had never tried. I thought this made the chicken more juicy. Although I did taste the salt from the brine but it did not seem to bother my husband.  Note to self, make this when the weather is a bit cooler.

I also made the Blueberry Cobbler, also from Ad Hoc. That was soooooo good. It is a good recipe  for this time of year when the berries are fresh and  abundant. My husband made quick work of making it disappear so I can make something else. What will it be? Stay tuned…..
